Restorative Yoga Weekend

8th to 10th August 2025

At Park Place Pastoral Centre, Wickham, Hampshire

  • The Yoga

The weekend will focus on an outcome of renewed energy and inspired practice by going deeply into the restorative aspects of asana, pranayama and contemplation.

The program will include supported asana, restorative sessions, japa mantra and sutra readings to give participants the time and space to let go and welcome in fresh perspective and healing elements.

Participants are invited from all levels and styles of practice, but Rachel teaches in the Iyengar tradition so some experience of the use of props is desirable. Props will be provided if you do not have your own, but students are asked to bring their own if possible.

  • Accommodation

Accommodation at Park Place is simple but comfortable, private ensuite bedrooms with shower and single beds, arranged around a large private garden. Twin or double rooms are available on request. Towels are provided and the accommodation wing has a mini-kitchen space with kettle and fridge.

Our group also has a private lounge area with kitchen and comfy chairs overlooking the gardens.

Our yoga space is exclusive to us so we can leave our equipment there throughout the weekend.

If you need to borrow any equipment, Rachel has a supply of spare props.

  • Meals and Snacks

Included in your weekend is a welcome dinner on Friday, breakfast and lunch on Saturday and breakfast and farewell lunch on Sunday.

All meals are home-made on site by the Sisters, accomplished cooks in Western and Indian styles of menu. The food is vegetarian and the Sisters can cater for any special dietary requirements.

On Saturday evening, we will visit nearby Wickham for dinner (extra cost) at Kutis Indian restaurant.

Rachel will also provide fresh fruit and cake for our afternoon tea which can be taken in the private sitting room exclusive to our group.

Day students can also partake in the lunch and dinner for an extra cost.

  • Single Ensuite: £350

    Twin/Double Ensuite: £295

    Non-Resident (includes lunch ): £175

  • The restorative weekend retreats are for those with some experience of yoga and who are used to using props to support their practice. Most of the participants who come have done at least a year or more of yoga but all abilities are welcome so if you have a particular medical condition that needs supporting, you will be in good hands with Rachel who is an experienced Iyengar yoga therapist.

  • If your partner would like to come but not do the yoga, that is okay, but bear in mind that the programme is quite focused on a restorative and mindful practice, so it might be best to give this weekend to just yourself.

  • Arrive any time from 2.30pm onwards. Massage treatments are available on Friday and Saturday afternoon before the evening yoga sessions.

The yoga programme begins with a 75 minute welcome session on Friday evening, followed by dinner and then quiet time.

On Saturday we begin with optional Pranayama (breath mindfulness) before breakfast. After eating, there is a short break and the main yoga practice is from 10am to 12pm.

Massage treatments are available and lunch is served at 1pm.

The afternoon is free to walk, enjoy sightseeing or just be peacefully quiet, or enjoy a massage.

Restorative Yoga is at 4.30 to 5.45 followed by dinner at Kuti’s in Wickham (extra cost).

On Sunday, the day again starts early (optional) and after breakfast, our final session is from 10am to 12.30pm with lunch and farewells afterwards.
